IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT TRAINING GROUND ALLOCATIONS
All training ground allocations are co-ordinated. Do not assume that a ground is free. Please check with the Club first. To all Coaches/Managers, keep to your allocated time slots, do not go over time as this affects other teams.

CHILD PROTECTION
It is important that club members are informed by reading the information available to you at
the NSW Dept Sport & Recreation website... TO CLARIFY: The signing of a Prohibited Employment Declaration (Attachment 4) is a mandatory requirement for all volunteers and Paid persons working with children. A Background Check is only mandatory for persons in a PAID position which has been assessed and deemed to be a Child related position. Please note that any amount paid to a person, whether reimbursement of expenses or whatever, constitutes a payment under this. We do suggest however, that because any of these positions are child-related, you are encouraged to asses the level of risk associated with the position as this may help you evaluate your risk management planning when deciding whether to do background checks. The requirement to have people sign the two primary forms is explained in FAQ on the DS&R website as follows: 1. Employers are required to ask all employees primarily working with children if they are a "prohibited person". This applies to both paid and unpaid employees. 2. There will be a national criminal record check for preferred applicants for paid positions primarily working with children. It is a check for child abuse, child pornography, sexual activity or acts of indecency. It will also include a check on relevant Apprehended Violence Orders and a check of previous relevant disciplinary proceedings.

GHFA, WET WEATHER
INFORMATION
GHFA has had some problems with wet grounds in past seasons, and some Clubs are unsure of the procedure for notification of grounds unplayable. Also When RYDE council grounds are CLOSED PLEASE do not train. Some teams have still been training, and this will result in the club being fined, as council patrol the grounds to ensure that closure notices are adhered to.

RYDE COUNCIL WET WEATHER INFORMATION
LINE: 9952 8244
The Ryde Council wet weather information is updated at 8.30am and 2.30pm each day. There is no training if the grounds are closed. This does not apply to Saturday or Sunday games - all games are assumed ON unless advised by a club official. It is up to Coach, manager to call the wet weather line
during the day or at 3pm to find out what ground closures apply if it has
been raining throughout the day or previous night.

GENERAL GUIDELINES AND
POLICIES
Guidelines and policies are an important contributor towards effective risk management in any sporting organisation. More recently, Soccer NSW has developed specific policies which are designed to assist, guide and support all clubs and associations in an ever-increasing litigious society. Adopting and adhering to these policies will assist in reducing the associated risk and potential liability.
The policy process will be continually updated by Soccer NSW. All clubs, associations and respective officials should familiarise themselves with each of the polices, and act accordingly to conform with their guidelines.
